Vacancy announcement for the post of Registrar

Arthur Jarvis University is a private University located in Akpabuyo, 14km from Calabar, the capital city of Cross River State.  The Federal Government of Nigeria has recently granted the University license to commence academic activities. Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Registrar.

The position

The Registrar is the Chief Administrative Officer of the University and is responsible to the Vice Chancellor for general administration. The Registrar serves as Secretary to the Board of Trustees/Governing Council, the Senate, Congregation, Convocation and Committees of Management.

The candidate

The candidate must possess a good first degree and should have up to ten (10) years relevant post-qualification experience in the University or a cognate system. He/she must have served in a position equivalent to that of a Deputy Registrar for at least three (3) years in a recognised and reputable organization. He/she must be computer literate and highly skilled in computer applications required for e- administration. Membership of at least one recognised professional body of human resource/personnel management is mandatory.

Conditions of service

Conditions of Service are as applicably to the post of Registrar in Nigerian Universities.


The Registrar shall hold office for a term of five (5) years.

  • Present employment status, employer and salary
  • Extra- curricular activities
  • Names and addresses of three (3) referees

Each submission should be in an envelope with name of applicant and position applied for marked at the top left corner. Referees reports should be submitted under separate cover directly by referees themselves to the University.
